Alerts

MessengerDiscovery has it's own styled alert system which provides many useful features.

The alerts contains different information about the contacts and his/hers events:

• the Windows Live Messenger address,
• event (e.g. "Signed in" or "Conversation connection opened"),
• history of 3 previous events,
• time of the event,
• the display picture.

In the settings window of MessengerDiscovery under "Alerts - General Settings" you can select many options to customize alerts. You may disable Windows Live Messenger alerts and use MessengerDiscovery Alerts which provide much more functionality.

[edit] Buttons

MessengerDiscovery Live alerts have several buttons to provide useful features.

[edit] X Button

Closes the alert, you can also right-click alerts to close them.

[edit] Alert Cross

Disable alerts for this contact.

[edit] Clipboard

Opens up a menu to copy alert text to the clipboard. Choice of all alerts or the current alert.

[edit] Picture

Steal the currently addressed contacts' display picture.

[edit] Speech Bubble

Open instant message window with that contact. You can also click anywhere else on the alert to open an instant message window.

[edit] Settings

In the settings window from MessengerDiscovery you'll find options like when and where to show the alerts. There's also a filter to exclude contacts from showing an alert.
