- Don't write MD, MD2, MDL or Messenger Discovery. It should be:
MessengerDiscovery
- Only write MessengerDiscovery Live if you write a specific page for version 1.#
- Only write MessengerDiscovery 2 if you write a specific page for versions 2 and higher.
- Also, it's Windows Live Messenger instead of WLM or MSN.

Translating
Do's
Every page on the Wiki is possible to translate to your mother language. Follow the next steps on how to do so:
- Open the page you would like to translate and go to the locationbar in your browser and add the 2 letter language code after the link,
like this:http://live.msgdiscovery.com/wiki/Main_Page/nl.
Where/Main Pageis the page you want to translate and/nlis the new language you want the page translate to (Dutch in this example). More info about the 2 letter language codes can be found here: ISO 639-1. - Edit that page and add your translation. Keep the same wording and use the same layout as much as possible.
- When you're finished, go back to the English page and edit it. On the bottom of that page add the following template: Languages Box (see link with more info).
- Check off course of all works and look the same. Also check of your language is added in the language box.
More info about this can be found here.
Don'ts
- Don't translate a page name (e.g.
Main Pagein Dutch would beHoofdpagina), use the language system as explained above. - Don't translate links, use the translation system: in Spanish
[[Caracteristicas]]is going to be[[Features|Caracteristicas]]. - Don't forget to translate templates. Templates are marked by '
{{' and '}}'. If you add them to a page and there's English text in them, you can probably translate this, but you have to use the preview button to look if this is true. You can always go to there own page (marked by+/-) and read the documentation.
Tools
If you're a firefox user, you have to check out Wiked. This is an almost full-featured Wikipedia-integrated rich-text pseudo-WYSIWYG editor. Currently it works only for Firefox and other Mozilla browsers, but it helps me allot. You can also add custom buttons.
Testing
Want to test things out, don't know how things work, want know how things look like when added, don't test it on a regular page, but test it out on the sandbox.
Sandbox is a page where you can edit, change and test all it's contents. Besides this, all normal rules are still active!
Questions
Have questions or think you have to say something, go to the forum and post it.
