[edit] How To Uninstall Completely MessengerDiscovery Live.

We're sorry that you want to uninstall MessengerDiscovery Live. To be helpful to the end, below is a list what to do when you want to completely uninstall MessengerDiscovery Live:

[edit] Close MessengerDiscovery Live and Windows Live Messenger

  • Close MessengerDiscovery Live by right clicking the MessengerDiscovery Live button in the tray menu and pressing the red option "Exit".
Does this option not exist, just go to "Settings" > "Other" > "Advanced" and enable the option "Enable "Exit" in MessengerDiscovery tray menu" and try the previous task again.
  • Close Windows Live Messenger (exit it from system tray menu).
Be sure other Windows Live Messenger accounts are closed too.
  • Check if both programs are stopped completely by pressing ctrl + alt + delete and check for the processes: msnmsgr.exe and MessengerDiscovery_Live.exe.
If one of them exist, kill these processes.

[edit] Removing MessengerDiscovery Live

  • "Start" > "Control Panel" > "Add or Remove Programs".
  • In the current list find MessengerDiscovery Live and press "Remove".

[edit] Removing MessengerDiscovery Live folder and registry entries

  • Remove MessengerDiscovery Live folder in "C:\Program Files\MessengerDiscovery\".
Does this folder not exist, you probably installed it somewhere else.
  • There are two ways to remove the registry keys: one manual (for expert users) and another automatic (easier and efficient).

[edit] Manual remove registry keys

  • "Start" > "Run" > type "regedit"
  • Find the following keys and delete them (if they still there):
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ecko_complex

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MessengerDiscovery

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MessengerDiscovery Live

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Matt Holwood

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Matt Holwood
  • Also check in your messenger folder, that you don't have the following files there left (you probably have to allow to see hidden files under "Tools" > "Folder Options" to see those files):
    • winmm.dll
    • version.dll

[edit] Automatic remove registry keys
